Personality Test( INTERVIEW)
The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers of objective type (multiple-choice questions) carrying a maximum of 400 marks. The Question Paper are set in bilingual (both Hindi & English).
General Studies Paper-I
General Studies Paper-II
The written examination consists of nine papers, two qualifying papers and seven papers counted for ranking
One of the Indian languages listed below, to be selected by the candidates (from the languages listed in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India )

(Governance, Constitution, polity, social justice, and international relations )
General Studies-III (Technology, economic development, biodiversity, environment, security and disaster management)
General Studies-IV (ethics, integrity and aptitude)
Two papers on subjects to be selected by the candidate from the list of optional subjects below ( 250 marks for each paper)
TOTAL (Written Test)
Personality Test (Interview)
The interview contains 275 marks. The technique of the interview is to test the mental qualities of the candidates. This is the final stage of the selection as an IAS under Government of India. Final merit for the selection of the candidates depends on the total marks of candidates in both Mains and Interview.
Combined Defense Services (CDS) Examination
This is the most prestigious examination conducted by UPSC for the intake of officers in the Indian Army. The UPSC conduct Combines Defense Service Examination every year in the month of August. Every year lakhs of aspirants apply for the post of Officers in the most reputed examination in India. The examination is conducted in two phases (Phase-I and Phase-II).
Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) Examination
Every year UPSC conduct examination for the post of Assistant Commandant in Central Armed Police Force. The Assistant Commandant is group ‘A’ service under Central Government of India. This is the highest grade pay scale service in Central Government. As similar to other examination, in this examination lakhs of students participate to get selected for an officer rank in CAPF.
Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination
The Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination were conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) every year for the officer rank Grade ‘A’ in Geologist Department. The aspirants need to be Graduate in a specific field for this post. Every year myriad of students participates in this exam akin to other examination in India.
National Defense Academy (NDA) Examination
National Defense Academy Examination is commenced by UPSC every year twice for the recruitment of officers in Indian Army. The examination recruitment comes every year in the month of November/ December and July /August. The exam named as NDA-I and NDA-II. The aspirants start their preparation from their academic session itself as this exam is phased by the student of class 12th and above. There is an age limit and the candidate must be obtained 60% marks in Physics and Mathematics in class 12th.
